Specialist Games and Me

Since about as long as I've been wargaming, I've always had this small need inside of me to break away from all of the normal games and try something different. I've made several attempts to try out those other games throughout the years. All that ever came of these endeavors was a small hole in my pocket where the money used to be and a new model or set of models I have no use for. But I never stopped trying, and the useless models just kept piling up.

These days though, after finally finding a gaming group that is, gasp, active, my wishes have started to come true. A Mordheim campaign is on the horizon. A few players are into Epic. Aeronautica Imperialis is on the rise. I do believe I'm in heaven. You name the game, they probably play it.

My models aren't useless anymore!

I'm starting a Skaven Warband for Mordheim. That's the latest model I've finished. I'm having an absolute blast painting these guys so far.

  1. Looks great, nice NMM look on the blade and bracelet.

Mordheim can be very rewarding when it comes to painting models, from what I remember, there isn't a high model count to make a warband and you can lavish tons of attention on each figure.

  2. Thanks for the kind words.

I'm really looking forward to getting my first game in sometime soon. And I'm hoping to actually have a fully painted playable force for once! Just have to get all of the models together x.x...

  3. Hey Grey Death,

Looks great. I'm glad you've have a chance to play Mordheim. I hope you enjoy it. The small model count and the ever-improving warband makes it like a computer game, and endlessly fun.

    Good luck with your Skaven,
    -Ashton Sanders

  4. Hey Ashton,

Thanks for the compliment. I'm really looking forward to digging into it in the coming weeks. It will definitely be a good time. Now if I could just get my hands on more models to finish up before the campaign starts I'd be happier!

I went to your blog and I have to say, I'm quite intrigued by it all. I'll have to add it to my list of blogs here on my blog for sure!
